Since the 1970's, Jerome (Rutgers College Class of 1951) and Lorraine Aresty have made extraordinary contributions to many of Rutgers’s programs and facilities - including the Zimmerli Art Museum, the Alexander Library, the Henry Rutgers Scholars Fund, the Rutgers College Academic Excellence Fund, and athletics. In 1992, they established their first scholarship program, the Jerome and Lorraine Aresty Scholarship.
In 2001, Mr. and Mrs. Aresty established the Jerome and Lorraine Aresty Undergraduate
Research Scholars Program. This program provides funds for Rutgers College students conducting Henry Rutgers Scholars theses and enabling them to conclude their college careers by conducting original research in their major field of study. |

In 2004, Mr. and Mrs. Aresty shared with Rutgers a vision for a program that might coordinate and improve upon the support structure for undergraduate research, and the Aresty Research Center for Undergraduates (ARC) was born. The generosity of Jerome and Lorraine Aresty helps some of Rutgers’ most talented students use the strong scholarly foundation acquired during their undergraduate years to establish themselves as mature and independent thinkers and scholars. |
