giesler

Amanda Giesleris a senior majoring in Ecology and Natural Resources. Last year she worked with Dr. Clark Chinn in the Aresty research program studying scientific reasoning and argumentation of 7th grade students. She is currently working on a senior thesis project in the area of paleoecology, and would like to pursue this subject in graduate school. After graduate school, she aspires to become a professor and continue research. 

hurwitz

Andrew Hurwitz is a senior completing a double major in Planning and Public Policy and Philosophy.  For the past two years he has done research with Professor Clark Chinn in the Department of Educational Psychology.  During that time he worked on two different projects with Professor Chinn.  The first project addressed how middle-school students reason about real conflicting scientific evidence.  The second study focused on conceptual change in the science classroom.  Over the next year, Andrew will be writing his senior honors thesis on epistemic development in the college years.

Aubrey McCauley is a senior majoring in Art History and minoring in Womens and Gender Studies. She is involved with the Rutgers Art History Student Association, the Certificate of Historic Preservation program and Douglass Greeter program. She is interested in how women were and are being depicted in art as well as women artist's influences. After graduation she is planning on getting her master's and working in an art museum.

irven

Bobby Irven is a Junior in the School of Arts and Sciences double majoring in Chinese and Political Science with a Global Politics certificate. Last year he worked as an RA with Dean Matt Matsuda. He is involved with the Association of International Relations amd participates in Model UN conferences around the country and the world. He also is an intern through the Eagleton Insititute of Polical Science where he works with local high school students through "RU Ready". He is interested in international issues/ conflict resolution and hopes to work for the UN or other major international organization.

Bryan Lian is a senior double majoring in Biology and Nutritional Sciences. He loves physiology, and is planning to take Animal Phys just for fun. He also works as a peer counselor for Scarlet Listeners, and is planning to continue his education in the health professions after he finishes Rutgers.

lai

Calvin Lai is a senior double majoring in psychology and sociology. He has conducted research in sociology, social psychology, and educational psychology. After graduation, he plans to enroll in graduate school for a doctorate in social psychology.

Cat

Catherine Rossi is a senior majoring in Psychology and American Studies. This is her third year working with the Aresty program; she has conducted research on psychological and sociological issues in sports, and is currently studying child development and school resiliency of preschool and kindergarden aged children. She is involved in many groups on campus including the club field hockey team and is Festival Manager of the NJ Folk Festival.  After graduation she plans to earn a doctoral degree in educational psychology. 

dondero

Danielle Dondero is a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Sociology.  She will be attending UMDNJ this year as a part of the joint physician assistant program with Rutgers.  Danielle previously did research with Aresty in plotting volcanic structures in Central America and presented her research project at the National Geology Conference in Costa Rica.

frantz

Felicia Frantz is a senior at Rutgers College.  She is majoring in Planning and Public Policy and pursuing a double minor in Professional Youth Work and Jewish Studies.  Recently, she served as a research assistant to Professor Clark Chinn in the Department of Educational Psychology.  The research focused on using model-based reasoning as a strategy to promote science learning in the 7th grade classroom.  This year, she will be writing her senior honors thesis on social norms and teen alcohol consumption. 

 

Hannah Hong is majoring in Genetics and minoring in Music. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine and biomedical research.

peters

Jay Peters is currently a junior at Rutgers University, and is double majoring in Accounting and History.  He is a member of Chabad and the treasurer of Hillel, and goes to meetings of the Rutgers Yiddish Club and the Anthologist.  Jay enjoys playing chess and reading books, especially science fiction and fantasy. 


 

Jessie Doyle is a junior majoring in psychology and double minoring in history and cognitive science. Last year, she did Aresty research with Sandra Holyoak and the Rutgers Oral History Archives on her family history. She hopes to attend graduate school for psychology.

 

June Sultan is a junior in the School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program. She is a Psychology and Linguistics double major. Last year, she worked as a research assistant under Dr. Lorraine McCune studying an infant's transition and development in language. She plans to graduate a year early in 2010. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career as a speech pathologist.

Kate West is a junior majoring in English.  Last year she worked with Professor Vesterman studying literary time.  After college, she would like to go to graduate school to study Medieval or Renaissance texts.

Kimberly Dong is a senior majoring in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry with a second major in Public Health.

 

charbonneau

Lindsey Charbonneau is a Junior majoring in Linguistics with a minor in Psychology. She is involved in the Rutgers University Linguistics Club. Her research interests include language acquisition, syntax, and sociolinguistics.

kofman

Niki Kofman was born of Russian Jewish immigrants who has instilled in her a desire to understand the history of her family and the shapings of their beliefs. She did research with Professor Sinkoff last year and looks forward to working with the program again. She listens to music for hours each day, and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's children's book, The Little Prince, changed her life.

deshmukh

Prium Deshmukh is a senior double majoring in Genetics and Art History.  She was an Aresty RA in her sophomore year and has been involved with research ever since. Currently, she is working with the NPC2 protein in Dr. Storch’s lab on Cook Campus. She’s also the secretary for Children’s AIDS Network (CAN), a member of the SASHP Artist’s Collective, an Honors Program Peer Mentor and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She is also an avid reader and a champion doodler. She is planning on going to medical school after college.

Samir Kabir is a junior in the School of Arts and Sciences double majoring in Economics and Political Science.  Last year he worked with Professor David Bensman, in the School of Management and Labor Relations, doing research on deregulation of the trucking industry and its adverse effects on the environment, economy and other facets of life.  Samir is a member of the Economics Honors Society and the Rutgers Fed Challenge Team.  In his free time he enjoys playing sports and spending time with friends and family.

Stephanie Cerceis a junior in the School of Arts and Sciences Honors program.  She is majoring in psychology with a minor in history.  She participates in undergraduate research in psychology, New Student Orientation, and is an Honors Peer Mentor.  After graduation, she plans to earn her PhD in Psychology and do research at a university.

 

Zehra Ali is currently a junior in the School of Arts and Sciences as a Douglass Residential College student. She is double majoring in Poltical Science and Middle Eastern Studies. Last year she worked as an RA under the guidance of Professor Gordon Schoctet. This past summer she participated in the Center for American Women and Politics Leadership Conference. She hopes to pursue a career in law and international relations in the future.
