About the Peer Advisors

Aresty Peer Advisors serve as a liaison and program guide for Aresty RAs. In this capacity, Peer Advisors recruit and advise the RAs, share information about academic and other campus resources, serve as liaisons between student researchers and faculty mentors, and plan programs for and facilitate research seminars for their peer group. They may be asked to help with presentations promoting the Aresty Research Center, or with programs such as the annual Symposium.

Peer Advisors are paid $500 for their year-long appointment, during which they conduct monthly seminars with their assigned peer groups, organize monthly peer group team building events, and meet with the ARC staff each month to report on progress. Peer Advisors are also available to answer questions and serve as supporters for their Aresty RAs.

Application

Applicants must be second- or third-year students in good academic standing. Applicants should have completed one full year of research (preferably through the Aresty RA program). Selection is based on a review of the application materials as well as interviews.
