Research Slam! Held at Honors College

Aresty Research Slam!

On Thursday, December 3, Aresty held its first ever Research Slam! at the new Honors College as a way to showcase the breadth of research happening at Rutgers. A Research Slam is an alternative academic presentation that offers participants an interactive way to present their current work and engage with audience members, while effectively communicating their research to a non-expert audience.

Many students turned out to see current Aresty research assistants and faculty present on a myriad of topics. Presenters included:

Chris Markosian, working with Dr. Ken Irvine at the Waksman Institute

Neha Narayanan, working with Dr. Mimi Phan in the Psychology Department

Sahani Wijesinghe, working with Dr. John Li in Biomedical Engineering

Kruttika Raman, working with Dr. Eugene White at the Rutgers Business School

Taylor Wilson, working with Dr. Dake Zhang at the Graduate School of Education

Lisbeth Pineda, working with Dr. Liliana Sanchez of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese

Deep Kotadia, working with Dr. Richard Martin in the Computer Science Department

Qining Wang, working with Dr. Stephen Garofalini in Material Science and Engineering

Faculty presenters included Dr. David Margolis in Cell Biology and Neuroscience, Francesca Giannetti, digital humanities librarian, and computer science professor Kostas Bekris.
