Second Annual Research SLAM!

Presenters at the 2016 Research SLAM

On Thursday, December 8, Aresty held its second annual Research Slam! at the Cove in Busch Student Center as a way to showcase the breadth of research happening at Rutgers. A Research Slam is an alternative academic presentation that offers participants an interactive way to present their current work and engage with audience members, while effectively communicating their research to a non-expert audience.

Many students turned out to see current Aresty research assistants and faculty present on a myriad of topics. Presenters included:

Eloise Gayer, working with Amy Cooper, PhD candidate in the English Department and Center for Cultural Analysis Graduate Fellow

Neha Narayanan, working with Dr. Mimi Phan in the Psychology Department

Cedric Abano, working with with Dr. Sarolta Takacs in the History Department

Mahija Cheekati, working with with Dr. Haoran Zhang in the Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Department

Zac Blanco, working with Dr. Waheed Bajwa in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department

Marcelle Mathews, working with Dr. Sanjib Bhuyan in the Agricultural Economics and Marketing Department

Faculty presenters included Professor Jeff Friedman in Dance and Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Nicole Fahrenfeld.
