Students: Apply to Aresty!

Students at the 2016 Summer Science Poster Session.

Deadlines are approaching if you are interested in applying to the Aresty Summer Science program or our academic-year Research Assistant program.

Summer Science Program: The Summer Science Research Program is an intensive, full-time, on-campus research experience for Rutgers-New Brunswick rising sophomores only. Students are matched with faculty mentors from a diverse array of scientific disciplines. Participants learn about the process of research by working with their mentors in the laboratory and by participating in library workshops, seminars, trips to local research laboratories in industry and medicine, and social events. Summer experiences often lead to involvement in research during the subsequent academic year. Applications are now open. Deadline to apply is March 7. Learn more here.

Research Assistant Program: The Aresty Research Assistant (RA) Program enables students to gain their first authentic reseach experiences by supporting faculty research projects during the academic year. RAs gain valuable research skills by working side by side with professors on forefront research projects, while professors benefit from a structured program to recruit and train the next generation of researchers. Students selected for the program do five hours of research per week (or more by arrangement with their professor). Selected students also attend peer group meetings with other undergraduate researchers to practice scholarly communication, explore research ethics, design posters, and discuss research methodology. Applications will open mid-March. Deadline to apply is April 7. Learn more here.
