Aresty Rutgers Undergraduate Research Journal: Fourth Issue Published
We are pleased to announce the release of the Fall 2022 issue of the Aresty Rutgers Undergraduate Research Journal (RURJ). Read about diverse research being done by undergraduate students across Rutgers, including tracking the dynamic carbonate chemistry of our oceans, using in silico techniques to examine the pharmacological potential of specific medicinal plants, and assessing the social value of the American shopping mall. This publication is an undergraduate-run, interdisciplinary journal in affiliation with the Aresty Research Center for Undergraduates, designed to showcase the cutting-edge undergraduate research conducted at Rutgers University. Our mission is to provide undergraduate researchers the opportunity to publish their own work and experience the peer review process. After submitting their papers, researchers implement multiple rounds of revisions based on comments from undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty. We couple this with a unique educational program for students to learn about and gain hands-on experience with peer review, for which applications will open in the summer.
If you are interested in having your own work published in our journal, we are currently accepting submissions for the 2023 publication cycle. If you have conducted research in the STEM, social sciences, or humanities at Rutgers and are either a current undergraduate student or recent (<1 year) alumnus, we encourage you to submit your work by emailing it to us at aresty.rurj@rutgers.edu with your submission and the subject line “2023 Manuscript Submission - [Your Name]”. Papers should be targeted to the undergraduate population and average 2,000-3,000 words in length. Submissions are due January 6th, 2023 by 11:59 pm for expected publication in September 2023.
You can read more about our submission guidelines on our website, or email us directly at aresty.rurj@rutgers.edu with any questions. If you don’t have a manuscript ready but would like to learn more about other ways to get involved with the journal, fill out this Google Form for more information. We look forward to hearing from you!
