Apply For A Research Grant: Applications Due October 15th
September 2, 2025
Each year, the Aresty Research Center invites undergraduates who are working on independent research projects or theses to submit proposals for the Aresty Research Grants Program. These competitive grants are intended to offset expenses related to undergraduate research. All applicants* must be working under the supervision of a research mentor and be a full-time undergraduate student at Rutgers-New Brunswick. We strongly encourage you to apply for funding for the entire academic year.
In addition to receiving research support, recipients will participate in presentation and poster design workshops, and share their research with the university community at Aresty’s Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium in April 2026.
The funds will be allocated through a competitive application process at the beginning of the fall semester. All proposals will be reviewed by a faculty review panel in the field of the proposed research. Reviewers rate each proposal and recommend funding amounts, which will range of $200-$1,000** for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. Students will be notified of application status in the early Spring semester.
*Students currently enrolled in the 2025-2026 Aresty Research Assistant Program are ineligible to apply.
**Each funding unit has their own allotted budget. Please be sure to include your Honors College, SAS Honors, Douglass Residential College, or Aresty Affiliation on your application. SAS Senior Thesis must identity as such for SAS Scholarship Office consideration.
To apply, read the complete guidelines for proposals and submit your materials here.
Applications are now open and are due at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The review process begins after the application deadline and decisions will be announced at the end of the Fall semester/early Spring semester.
