2025-2026 Research Assistant Application Portal: Opens March 1st
March 1, 2025
The 2025-2026 Aresty Research Assistant Program application opens March 1, 2025 to April 15, 2025 at 11:59PM! Interested students can find opportunities to support professors working on cutting-edge research in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, and arts.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Participating professors provide descriptions of their current projects to the Aresty Research Center. Students can browse a database of research projects and submit up to three applications to projects that they are interested in working on. Professors will review applicant materials and conduct interviews with promising students. The Aresty Research Center then matches student finalists to specific projects. Additional projects may be added, interested students should check the database periodically for updates.
BECOMING A RESEARCH ASSISTANT: The Research Assistant Program is designed to make the process of joining a research project easy and transparent for undergraduates. Students have access to project descriptions, applicant responsibilities, and prerequisites for applying to work on a particular project. These tools allow students to make informed decisions about which type of project will suit them best.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Accepted students are required to complete five hours of research per week during the 2025-2026 academic year. Many students elect to complete more than five hours a week to earn credit for their research.
· Students must attend bi-monthly peer discussion group meetings through the Aresty Research Center. These meetings are designed to help students navigate the research process and prepare them to present their work at the Undergraduate Research Symposium in April 2026.
