2025-2026 Research Assistant (RA) Program Faculty Project Proposals - Now Open

Presenters at symposium.

We are happy to begin collecting research project proposals for the 2025-2026 Research Assistant (RA) Program*. Next year’s academic program will run from September 2, 2025 through April 24, 2026.

The Aresty Research Assistant (RA) Program offers students that are new to research the opportunity to undertake their first authentic research experience by supporting faculty research projects during the academic year. RAs gain valuable research skills by working alongside research mentors, while the mentors benefit from a structured program to recruit and train the next generation of researchers. Students selected for the RA program will conduct a minimum of five (5)hours of research per week (additional work can be done by arrangement with the student). Selected students are required to attend peer group meetings with other undergraduate researchers to practice scholarly communication, explore research ethics, design posters, and discuss research methodology. The program enables students to work on specific projects across a variety of academic disciplines.

For more information on designing a project, please click hereYou can also create a new project or replicate an existing one. Applicants will be able to see faculty mentor plans when applying.

Submissions are due on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:59pm.

Thanks for your support of this program and the incredibly powerful experience it offers to students!

*Proposals will only be reviewed for the academic year program. Applications for Summer Science are now closed.
